Fox 6 News Reports on Z Microsystems’ Role in Military Action |
|
San Diego, CA – April 3, 2003 – On March 27th, San Diego's Fox 6 News focused its "Fox Connect" segment on the achievements of Z Microsystems, the leading commercial manufacturer of "field-ready" deployable computer systems. Fox found that Z Microsystems epitomizes the type of local company successfully supporting the U.S. military intelligence force on the front lines of the war in Iraq. By providing robust computing hardware, Z Microsystems is redefining communications in harsh war environments, making the units more portable and requiring less maintenance than the competitors. The equipment offers additional heaters to sustain harsh temperatures, and its components can be coated for added protection from moisture and debris. These units are lighter, more space efficient, and require a smaller amount of power than was ever available before, a highly desirable trait in military equipment. Z Microsystems' latest technology also includes units that can tell military officials when the computers have fallen into enemy hands. Jack Wade, Z Microsystems’ President, was quoted in the segment as saying, "[Our hard disk drive] can tell you every place it'd been used, who used it, when they used it and how long they used it." Fox News focused its attention on Z Microsystems for this segment because this type of intelligence equipment is crucial in the field today due to ever-changing war strategies.
