Z Microsystems' Flat Panel Displays Selected for USAF's Upgraded Rivet Joint (RJ) Surveillance Aircraft Program |
|
San Diego, CA, USA – June 27, 2003 – Z Microsystems' new Orion 21 UDP (Universal Display Platform) has been selected for USAF's upgraded Rivet Joint (RJ) surveillance aircraft program. The new panel incorporates multiple video and RGB inserts that allow a single large format 21.3" UXGA LCD to selectively and simultaneously support multiple computers and video feeds. The Orion 21 UDP uses a new second generation Z Microsystems' video controller that supports both local operator and remote software control of video and RGB inserts. The new panels can be controlled via a browser using a Java SoftMenus™ application. The Orion's eight picture-in-picture capability is configurable to support multiple video and RGB applications, including image scaling, chroma-keying, and pan and zoom operations. The Orion 21 UDP is 19-inch rack mountable and is also a form-fit-alternative to the popular older Barco CRTs and flat panel displays, providing an easy upgrade path for users. Z Microsystems is proud to be part of the L-3 Com and USAF Rivet Joint team.
