Z Microsystems Ships Field-Ready Systems To China

San Diego, CA, USA -- September 5, 2003 - Z Microsystems has shipped several rugged and field-ready computer and display stations to China to be used in highly intensive maintenance test systems in the rugged environment. This customer works in the development, manufacturing, sales and post-sales services of test equipment for manufacturers.

The Z Microsystems' products used in the tested prototypes include the Zxi3, the Orion 20, and the TranzStor 8X RAID mass storage subsystem. The systems use multiple computer stations, and the Chinese user has placed Z Microsystems' rugged field-ready computers, displays, and storage solutions among those systems to process system preferences and functions. The exact arrangement of products the Z Microsystems' Chinese customers chose is as follows:

ZXi3 - This 2U-high, deployable, lightweight and rugged workstation delivers Sun or Intel processors, up to three removable TranzPak 7 modules and IDE or SCSI peripherals.

Orion 20 - With 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution, this digital, rugged large-format UXGA display offers high image quality, high contrast ratio (300:1) and a 170° viewing angle.

TranzStor 8X RAID Mass Storage Subsystem - Contains eight hot-pluggable power supplies and fiber channel/SCSI RAID controllers for supreme performance in cross-platform network storage.

The Chinese customer weighed Z Microsystems’ equipment against the competitors and chose to buy with Z Microsystems for its distinct advances in shock, vibration, and temperature endurance specifications, as well as for its rigorous EMI standards.
