ISO 9001:2000 Certification Awarded to Z Microsystems in December 2003 |
January 5, 2004 — International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification was awarded to Z Microsystems in December 2003 after the company completed an extensive internal and third party auditing process. Z Microsystems advanced its existing certification of ISO 9002, earned back in 1998, to the 9001:2000 level to include its engineering processes. This advancement in quality standards means a higher level of consistency in the company's processes. The certification encompasses the quality management standards of Z Microsystems' engineering and manufacturing organizations, and assures that Z Microsystems is focused on maintaining the highest standards for its quality management systems. According to Z Microsystems' Vice President of Quality Assurance, Rick Elliott, Z Microsystems uses ISO industry tools, such as the 9004:2000 guidebook, to keep current with the latest, most challenging criteria. The guidebook contains a clear interpretation of the 9001 standards, as well as details of anticipated ISO standards that have not yet been released. "We are ready for ISO to release the next level of standards," says Elliott. To learn more about our IS 9001:2000 standards, click here.
