High-Performance Rugged SCSI Channel RAID Solution

From the TranzStor family of low-profile, platform-independent network solutions comes the TranzStor 8X Ultra SC (SCSI Controller) RAID. Featuring a 320 SCSI-to-SCSI RAID controller and eight hot-swappable TranzPak 7 hard drive modules, the TranzStor 8X RAID array provides data intensive, mission critical applications with the high-end availability, performance and fault-tolerance they require.

The 8X SC features two SCSI-320 host channels, and two SCSI-320 drive channels. In addition, the model has an embedded SCSI-320 controller that ensures superior performance, extreme reliability and exceptional data availability.

Equipped with three fully redundant, hot-swappable power supplies and two fully redundant, field-replaceable cooling fans, the uniquely designed field-ready 19-inch rack-mountable enclosure (4U RETMA rack) has been customized to perform in the most rigorous military fielded environments. Packed in the tough 8X lightweight enclosure are 8 hot-pluggable TranzPak 7 hard drives, providing portability and protection to each hard drive. Each TranzPak 7 drive holds up to 300 GB of storage capacity and features a fully-enclosed aluminum housing for protection in the most rigorous storage environments where portability and durability are imperative.

Architecture

Designed for the most demanding applications, the subsystem is capable of the highest levels of performance. Its 64-bit separate-bus backbone is built around dedicated XOR engines running at twice the data bus speed. The calculation of parity and distribution of data can be optimized with the free association between individual logical arrays and different optimization modes.

High Performance

Featuring a 64-bit 133 MHz memory bus, the unparalleled bandwidth makes the subsystem's high data throughput more than sufficient for small-to-medium sized servers or workstations. The dual independent PCI bus design virtually eliminates all imminent bottlenecks on IO traffic, providing sufficient throughput for a wide range of application on workstations, Windows 2000/NT/XP, Linux, or Unix-based servers. These applications include disk-to disk backup, Video on Demand, stream editing and others.
